Professor Dr. Premkumar
BBA (Mel), MBA (UUM), PhD (USM)

Dr. Premkumar is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM). He holds a BBA from RMIT, Melbourne, an MBA from UUM, Malaysia, a PhD in Supply Chain Management from USM, Malaysia, and a Master Class BSC from Harvard University Business School. Currently, he is a Chair for Supply Chain Management at Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) and also the President of the International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA Malaysia).

Dr. Premkumar has a rich industrial experience and has worked in various leadership roles. He started his career as a Manufacturing System Analyst at Seagate Technology and later joined Intel Technology as a Logistics Manager. At Intel, he progressed to become the Regional Supply Chain Planning Manager. In 2007, he transitioned to academia and has since then contributed significantly to the field of SCM.

Dr. Premkumar is a renowned researcher and has published over fifty research papers in international journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. He is also a visiting Professor at KEDGE Business School in France since 2009. He is the founder of Asia Logistics and Supply Chain Council and is a leading researcher in Industry 4.0. He is highly sought after as a speaker and frequently invited to speak on Industry 4.0 trends and SCM issues at international conferences in various countries across the world.

As an academician and consultant, Dr. Premkumar has extensive experience in conducting workshops, training, and consultancy programs in SCM. He has significantly contributed to SCM effectiveness in the respective industry.

PROFESSOR DR WILLIAM WONG
M.Sc.Electronics, Ed.D.(USM)

Professor Dr. William Wong obtained Doctor of Education (USM, 2006), Master of Science in Electronics (Queen’s University of Belfast, UK, 1986), Engineering Council Examination (UK, 1987), Diploma in Technology (Electronics) (TAR College, Malaysia, 1985), Diploma in Certified Practitioner of Applied Statistics (with Distinction, from Advanced Micro Devices Inc, 1993). 

Dr. Wong is an esteemed research professor with a remarkable track record. Renowned for his expertise, he excels as a communicator, adept at simplifying intricate theories for better comprehension. His skill in transforming complex concepts into understandable lessons is truly exceptional. Notably, he has personally mentored and guided over 150 doctoral students, playing a pivotal role in their successful attainment of doctoral degrees.

He has a great passion in education, training as well as doing action research and action learning primarily on individual professional development, meaningful learning processes, leadership development, organization transformation and quality development. 

Dr Wong received numerous prominent awards, namely the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia Recognition Award for valuable contribution as strategic industry partner for training programmes at Community Colleges in 2014; The INTI Education Group Malaysia Top Ten STAR Leader Award for exemplar management leadership in 2011; the Kontron Manufacturing Services Sdn. Bhd Learning Grant Award to pursue the JT Frank Certification for Professional in Practice of Knowledge Management (POKM) in 2007. He also led an academic research team to enlisted into the Laureate International Universities Network Semi Finalist – David Wilson Award Winner on the Teaching & Learning Research Grant in 2009. 

On training and quality professional endeavor, he has acquired several certifications, there are - Certified Trainer from Malaysian Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) (2007) and also International Accrediting Institute, USA (1997) respectively; Internal Verifier and Assessor for Apprenticeship Training and Outcome-based Education (OBE) from National Technical and Vocational Council (NVTC), Malaysia (1997); Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) from American Society of Quality (ASQ), USA (1993) and Quality Management Consultant (QMC) (with Distinction, 1995) respectively; and Auditor/ Lead Auditor of Quality System from Neville-Clarke Limited (1998). Currently he is the Member of Technological Association of Malaysia (TAM) (2018) and Member of American Society of Quality (ASQ), USA (1993). 

After graduated with his Master degree in 1986, he began his career as engineering lecturer, then moved to MNCs and SMEs electronics manufacturing and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) industries, served as an engineer, section head, engineering manager and TQM / Training manager for approximately 12 years before switching into full time academic in end of 1998. 

During the fulltime academic tenure between December 1998 until December 2018 (20 years), he held various positions at local and transnational higher education institutions as Principal; Vice Principal; Director of Postgraduate Adult Continuing Centre (PACE); Associate Consultant cum Principal Trainer; Director - Centre of Action Research in Education (CARE); Academic Director; Head, Industrial Training and Lab Coordinator, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer - School of Engineering & Technology; MBA and PhD research supervisors, Panel / Chair of postgraduate dissertation proposal and VIVA defence. 

Throughout these 20 years beside teaching, action research and administrative duties, on capacity as a senior management member he planted many innovation initiatives encompass improvement aspects of institutional capacity development, quality, productivity and sustainability. This include implementation of QMS 9001, New Programme Development with Funnelling System, Academic Score Card System, Student-based Conference (SBC), Student Empowering Skill Seminar (SESS) Series, Youth Make A Difference (YMAD) Networked Teams, PASS Mentor-Mentee System, Knowledge and Ideas Sharing Series (KISS) Seminars, Young Engineer and Scientist (YES) Club at secondary schools, Teaching - Learning Sharing Forums and Professional Certification for tertiary teachers, Marketing-Academic Action Group Strategies, Industrial Advisory and Academic Assessor Systems, INSPIRE Project related to Community of Practice (COP) in Knowledge Management in Education, and Reflective Action Learning (REAL) Journal System. Prior to date, over 20 research papers have been presented in both national and international conferences, in which, some of the papers have been selected and published in books / journals (as listed in the conference / publication section of this CV. 

Since 1987 and until now (36 years), other than involving himself in part-time lecturing on engineering, academic research and business management subjects, Dr William worked as a part time trainer and consultant related to workforce transformation initiatives, productivity enhancement (included work measurement, UPH improvement, layout redesign, etc.) and quality improvement (include DFM, DFT, QFD, Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)), focuses to achieve operational excellence that meets contemporary requirements demand by regulatory and statutory bodies and globalization needs. Other projects covered ISO 9001:2015 certification, product and process yield enhancement, failure analysis for microelectronic products and PCBs, value engineering, ESD and 5S Housekeeping, JIT & Business Unit Development, Process Mapping & Re-engineering, R & R improvement in product testing process, ANOVA optimization of manufacturing yield in the product assembly lines, etc. He also has led teams of company senior management on the “Strategic Workforce Transformation Initiative (SWTI) projects. 

To name a few local and international entities in which the above projects and trainings have been involved, they are - Saigon High Tech Park in Vietnam, Union Civil Service Board in Myanmar, Philippine Association of State University Colleges (PASUC); and Colleges (INTI, SEGI, Equator and IPK, PSDC, Technical Frontier Consultant), industries (Trans Capital, Jabil, B. Braun, Robert Borsch, Dell, Naza, Genting-Sanyen, ZF Steering, Intel Technology, Motorola, AMD, Agilent, Plexus, Philip Lumileds, Fairchild, Dynacraft, Flextronics), and Penang City Council, etc.
